Minister sees potential for growth in fisheries sector
Although the local fishing sector contributes just about two percent to the Gross Domestic Product annually, Minister of Agriculture Forestry and Fisheries Montgomery Daniel says that in his opinion fisheries shows tremendous prospects for continued growth and development.
Earlier this week, while speaking at the opening of the Fisheries Summer Programme, Minister Daniel stressed that the Fishing Sector has significant potential for further development here in St. Vincent and the Grenadines. He urged the youngsters taking part in the programme to open their eyes and look at the fishing sector as a career path as there are many opportunities available to them in this area.
The Fisheries Summer Program is being held under the theme “A Future For Me In The Fishing Industry”.
